Basics of Surface Reconstruction

چکیده
In this chapter we introduce some of the properties of surfaces and their samples in three dimensions. The results developed in this chapter are used in later chapters to design algorithms for surface reconstruction and prove their guarantees. Before we talk about these results, let us explain what we mean by smooth surfaces. Consider a map π : U → V where U and V are the open sets in R2 and R3 respectively. The map π has three components, namely π(x) = (π1(x), π2(x), π3(x)) where x = (x1, x2) is a point in

Surface reconstruction of detect contours for medical image registration purpose
Although, most of the abnormal structures of human brain do not alter the shape of outer envelope of brain (surface), some abnormalities can deform the surface extensively. However, this may be a major problem in a surface-based registration technique, since two nearly identical surfaces are required for surface fitting process. A type of verification known as the circularity check for th...
متن کاملImage Reconstruction Based on Combination of Wavelet Decomposition, Inpainting and Texture Synthesis
Digital inpainting provides a means for reconstruction of damaged portions of an image. Although the inpainting basics are straightforward, most inpainting techniques published in the literature are only suitable for remarkable small portion or smooth color image. In order to avoid such shortcomings, we present a new algorithm for digital reconstruction based on combination of wavelet decomposi...
متن کامل3D Reconstruction Using Cubic Bezier Spline Curves and Active Contours (Case Study)
Introduction 3D reconstruction of an object from its 2D cross-sections (slices) has many applications in different fields of sciences such as medical physics and biomedical engineering. In order to perform 3D reconstruction, at first, desired boundaries at each slice are detected and then using a correspondence between points of successive slices surface of desired object is reconstructed. Mate...
متن کاملSubmental Artery Island Flap in Reconstruction of Harde Plate after wide Surgical Resection of Veruccous Carcinoma. Two case reports
Introduction: Reconstruction of intraoral soft tissue defects is important in restoring function and esthetic. In large defects, there will be demand for regional pedicle flaps or free flaps. Hard palate separates nasal and oral cavities. Due to the small surface area between flap and remaining palate after surgical resections, optimal blood supply of the flaps for hard palate reconstructions ...
متن کاملA Time-Domain Method for Shape Reconstruction of a Target with Known Electrical Properties (RESEARCH NOTE)
This paper uses a method for shape reconstruction of a 2-D homogeneous object with arbitrary geometry and known electrical properties. In this method, the object is illuminated by a Gaussian pulse, modulated with sinusoidal carrier plane wave and the time domains’ footprint signal due to object presence is used for the shape reconstruction. A nonlinear feedback loop is used to minimize the diff...
